Get fruity with go ahead!
Now worth £62m and growing by a healthy 12%, UB has continued to improve the nutritional content of its go ahead! range in order to meet consumer’s desire for healthier products.
Available to buy now, the range of golden baked bars with a tasty fruit flavoured filling, now contain 50% less saturated fat, as well as having no artificial flavours or colours. In addition to the reduction in saturated fat, the reformulated range will now also contain a selection of vitamins including: Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Riboflavin (B2), Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Vitamin B6 and Thiamin (B1).
The new nutritional content will be highlighted to consumers through an on-pack flash communicating the saturated fat reduction, added vitamins and no artificial flavours or colours, all while having the same great taste associated with the popular range.
Alice Cadman, Head of Strategic Projects, UBUK, commented: “With a value of £423m and growing at 7%, the consumer demand for healthier biscuits remains extremely strong and a sales opportunity for retailers.
“UBUK is committed to providing consumers and retailers with a healthier range of products that don’t compromise on taste. We’re pleased to be able to demonstrate this commitment by improving the nutritional content of the go ahead! range further still with this latest reformulation on the go ahead! Fruit Bakes range.
“In addition to the reformulated Fruit Bakes, retailers should ensure that they stock up on the wider go ahead! range, which has generated huge growth this year. This will mean they are stocked with healthier products that consumers want and are buying regularly.”
