Retailers set for spooktacular sales this year with sparkling new seasonal variants from McVitie’s Cake Company
McVitie’s Cake Company (MCC) is launching a selection of limited edition products for Halloween and Bonfire Night to provide retailers with the right products to make their sales sparkle and profits rocket this autumn. The manufacturer is introducing two seasonal themed Jaffa Cakes Bars and two new McVitie’s Tate & Lyle wholecakes.
Trick or Treat with Spooktacular Cake Bars
Following the successful launch of its limited edition Jaffa Cakes Lemon and Slime Cake Bars last year, McVitie’s has announced it is bringing back the range to drive seasonal sales for retailers this Halloween. In addition, MCC is also returning its limited edition McVitie’s Jaffa Spooky Cake Bars, to the market which will include the same delicious blend of bittersweet dark crackly chocolate and light sponge, but with a ghoulishly blood red orange centre.
Both products will be available for retailers to buy in packs of five Jaffa Cake Cake Bars from the end of August, with MRRPs of £1.49. The variants have been specially designed to appeal to the whole family with the eye-catching packaging featuring appropriately scary spider’s webs, pumpkins and bats, making the perfect gift for trick or treaters or for Halloween parties.
Make your sales sparkle this Bonfire Night
To get retailers’ sales rocketing this Bonfire Night, McVitie’s Cake Company is also launching two new limited edition 255gm wholecakes. McVitie’s Tate and Lyle Black Treacle Cake, a soft moist and sticky Black Treacle Cake, and McVitie’s Tate and Lyle Toffee Apple Cake, a tasty Toffee Apple flavoured cake made with Tate and Lyle Golden Syrup, will both be available to buy from the end of August at a MRRP £1.49. With vibrant packaging showing stars and sparkles to draw the eye in and ensure prominent on shelf stand out, both wholecakes will be sure to provide the perfect treat to share with friends and family to ensure their Bonfire Night goes with a bang!
Mike Benton, Marketing Controller at McVitie’s Cake Company commented: “With an increasing number of young family shoppers enjoying both the Halloween and Bonfire Night festivities, we recognise this presents a significant opportunity for retailers to grow sales of seasonal products and our new limited edition ranges provide the perfect response to this trend.
“McVitie’s range cakes are worth £61m and especially lend themselves to seasonal products. With total market sales of Cake at Halloween alone generating £6.7m last year, this is an excellent time for retailers to stock up on our seasonal offering for Halloween with the Jaffa Cakes Lemon & Slice and Spooky Cake Bars, as well as expanding into new seasonal occasions, such as Bonfire Night, with our new Black Treacle and Toffee Apple Cakes.”
