McVitie’s brings out the cake to lift spirits and sales in 2012
McVitie’s Cake Company is on a drive to encourage consumers to ‘Bring Out the Cake’ as part of a national campaign to lift the nation’s mood with a slice of McVitie’s cake to drive sales for retailers.
The campaign, which runs from now until August, will see McVitie’s Cake Company carrying out consumer sampling activity at events around the UK to lift their day with a slice of cake and enjoy a tune or two from the McVitie’s marching band. Throughout the sampling activity, McVitie’s Cake Company will be uploading content of consumers ‘Bringing Out the Cake’ and celebrating with McVitie’s to YouTube to further engage with consumers.
In addition, McVitie’s Cake Company will be redesigning its product packaging to feature a ‘Bring Out the Cake’ flash on pack and to include a QR code and URL which will direct consumers to its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/mcvitiescake. Once there, consumers can treat a friend to a free McVitie’s cake voucher that can be redeemed in store.
