UB's Community Programme

At UB, we know that we have a key role to play in developing our community both within our business, and the wider world in which we operate.  We are proud of the community activities of our employees who have made big contributions, particularly to the communities around our sites. 

As a major food manufacturer, we also want to help address the skills shortage in manufacturing - particularly in the science and engineering areas - by helping people start and enjoy a productive manufacturing career in these fields.

Our Community Programme is designed to provide a framework of support that will encourage activity, while giving participants the freedom to choose how they want to take part.

We have set ourselves a wide ranging set of community goals, from supporting fund raising and providing additional time off for community activities, to supporting students, schools and colleges.  We are also extending the development opportunties for employees and improving health and well-being. Finally, we are not forgetting that we want our sites to be enjoyable places to work and so we want to have some fun along the way.
